Burnt Out Car Body Female
The body found in a burnt-out car in a County Tyrone forest park earlier this week was so badly disfigured that it has taken three days to establish and to announce the victim's gender.
It has now been revealed that it was a woman whose body was discovered in the burnt out vehicle, the police have said.
The gruesome discovery was made on Monday morning by a forestry worker in the picturesque surroundings of Gortin Glen Forest Park near Omagh.
Police have said the car in which the body was found was a Clio 1998-2006 model.
It has also been revealed that 'a definite line of inquiry is being followed' in the investigation and that a crime is not suspected.
The dead woman has been identified but no details have been released as yet.
