Man in court accused of murdering girlfriend

A north Belfast man has appeared in court today charged with murdering his girlfriend.

Twenty-year-old Conor Doyle, a chef from the Limestone Road, was accused of murdering 21-year-old mother-of-two, Angela Snoddy, at her Newtownabbey home at the weekend.

Miss Snoddy's body was found at her Glenville Road home in Whiteabbey in the early hours of Monday morning. She had been stabbed several times.

A detective inspector told the court that he believed he could connect the murder charge to Mr Doyle. When the charges were put to him, Mr Doyle replied: "No."

The accused was remanded in custody until November 13.
