Sports United To Play Maze

The much debated super-sports stadium that has been proposed for the site of the old Maze Prison near Lisburn has moved a step closer.

The GAA, the Irish Football Association and Ulster Rugby have all agreed to play games at the facility if and when it is built.

The three organisations have signed a document estimating the minimum number of supporters they expect to attract annually.

The plan is for a 35,000-seater stadium for soccer and rugby, and the provision of more seats for GAA fans.
