NI trade mission returns from middle-east
Representatives of 12 Northern Ireland companies returned this week from the Arabian Gulf.
The companies were on an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission to explore business opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Invest NI Board member Bill McGinnis who is Chairman of the Dungannon-based McAvoy Group led the trade mission.
Mr McGinnis said: “Saudi Arabia and the UAE are markets in which Northern Ireland companies have a strong track record. Both are still buoyant because of the strength of the oil sector and are investing vast amounts to develop their industrial bases to meet the needs of fast growing populations.
“Our focus on the Middle East provides real opportunities for Northern Ireland companies to supply a broad range of products and services.”
The trade mission was centred on the Saudi business centres of Jeddah and Riyadh, the UAE commercial and financial capital Dubai.
The companies taking part included: Andronics, Larne; Beaufort Air Sea Equipment, Dunmurry; Fayrefield Foods, Belfast; FG Wilson (Engineering), Larne; Growmoor Horticulture, Dungannon; Legend International, Moy; McAvoy Group, Dungannon; Memsis, Belfast; Moygashel, Dungannon; Phoenix Picture Frames, Enniskillen; TR Shipping Services, Belfast; and Viper International, Coalisland.
The visit to Saudi Arabia and the UAE was part of a series of Invest NI trade missions and exhibitions that aim to help local companies widen their export potential.
