Aircraft Downed Near Mournes

There are few details as yet on the crash of a small aircraft near the Mourne Mountains late this afternoon.

It is known that two people have been injured after the plane crashed in a field in County Down, not far from the mountain range.

The crash site is just a few miles outside the town of Kilkeel with the emergency services called to the scene about 3pm.

A policespokeswoman said she believed the injuries of those involved are not life threatening.
