Aircraft Downed Near Mournes

There are few details as yet on the crash of a small aircraft near the Mourne Mountains late this afternoon.

It is known that two people have been injured after the plane crashed in a field in County Down, not far from the mountain range.

The crash site is just a few miles outside the town of Kilkeel with the emergency services called to the scene about 3pm.

A policespokeswoman said she believed the injuries of those involved are not life threatening.

Woman Dies In Co Down Road Crash
A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Man Dies During Race In The Mournes
A man in his 60s has died while taking part in a race in the Mourne Mountains. The man began feeling unwell half way through the race on Thursday evening. The emergency services were alerted, however despite attempts to revive him, he died at the scene.
