Belfast DJ Killed In Thai Accident

The Foreign Office has confirmed that a man from Belfast has died while on holiday in Thailand.

Mark Morrison - a DJ in Belfast - was killed in an accident in the resort of Patia in Bangkok.

Colleagues say the 45-year-old was fatally injured after falling off the back of a three-wheeled baht taxi.

David Cunningham, Head of Marketing and Entertainments for Benedict`s Hotel where the father-of-one worked, said everyone is in shock at the news.

"It appears to have been a tragic accident," said Mr Cunningham. "His head hit the ground and he was unconscious at the scene and dead by the time the ambulance arrived.

"We're all totally shocked. We picked up the news late last night but it has taken a while to get through from the Thai authorities.

"We now know 100 percent that Mark was killed in the accident."

It is understood Mr Morrison was due to return home on Friday.
