Belfast Cars Torched

Eight vehicles have been attacked in north and west Belfast.

Five of the cars have been destroyed and three others damaged in the spate of arson attacks.

The vehicles were attacked in Silvio Street, Crimea Street, Canmore Close, Albany Place and Rusholme Street in the Shankill and York Road areas.

A number of motives are being investigated, although the attacks are not thought to be sectarian.

However, police say they may be linked to previous similar attacks going back to last year.

These include an incident just before Christmas when seven other cars were attacked in the Woodvale area.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the arson attacks to contact them at Antrim Road PSNI station.
