Charges Follow Lurgan's Weekend Mayhem

Three men have been charged following violent disturbances in County Armagh last night

Police came under petrol bomb attack when they moved in to the centre of Lurgan where crowds were hurling missiles and setting bins on fire and blocking the road with them.

The men, aged, 21, 28 and 42, were arrested during the trouble in the Edward Street area and charged with a number of offences including disorderly behaviour.

The PSNI said the men had been released on police bail to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on November 8.

Police are still trying to establish what sparked the violence, which began on Saturday and continued on Sunday night.
