Money Laundering Pair Face Charges

Two men are due to appear in Newry Magistrates Court on a number of charges connected with money laundering.

On Wednesday £700,000 was seized in both sterling and euro by police as part of an investigation.

A third person was released on police bail pending further police inquiries.

One of Belfast’s leading estate agents has appeared in court in connection with money laundering charges. Philip Johnston, who employs more than 40 staff in six agencies in and around east Belfast, appeared in court on Monday to face four money laundering charges in connection with property.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man In Court Over Drugs, Money Laundering And Immigration Offences
A man has been charged with a number of drugs, money laundering and immigration offences. The 51-year-old was arrested following a PSNI operation which also involved police in Sussex and Home Office Immigration officials in London on Monday, 19 February. The suspect was detained and a sum of cash was also seized.

Republican facing money laundering charges
A well-known County Tyrone republican is due to appear in court today in connection with an investigation into organised crime. Brian Arthurs, 42 will appear at Dungannon Magistrates charged with fraudulently obtaining money and money laundering. He had been arrested and detained during a raid at his home in Dungannon last Friday.

Six appear in court faced with money laundering charges
Six men have appeared in court accused of money laundering charges involving almost £300,000. All of the charged were linked to Lawrence Kincaid, a loyalist from north Belfast who was in court last Saturday on 34 charges linked with laundering money.
