Fatal House Fire In Newtownards
A woman in her 30s has died in a fire at a house in Newtownards, Co. Down.
The fire occurred at a house in Ilex Avenue at around 5.30pm and the woman is reported to have died at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances of the death is being conducted by police who have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The scene is being examined by forensic specialists.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

Man Jailed For Sexual Assault Of 'Vulnerable Young Woman'
The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a 63-year-old man for sexual offences against a "vulnerable young woman" while working as a taxi driver in October 2017. Paul Bryan, from the Republic of Ireland, was sentenced at Londonderry Crown Court for sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault of an 18 year old woman.

Police Investigate Attempted Robbery Of Ferry Passengers
An investigation has been launched following an attempted armed robbery in the Downpatrick area on the evening of Friday, 02 August. At approximately 8:45pm on Friday, a man and woman aged in their 20s had boarded the ferry from Portaferry to Strangford as foot passengers.
