Girl Re-Arrested Over Grocer Murder

Police have re-arrested a teenager in connection with the murder of grocer Harry Holland.

The 15-year-old female had been remanded in custody charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A police spokesperson has confirmed that the girl has been taken for questioning to the PSNI serious crime suite in Antrim from the Lakewood Centre in Bangor where she was currently being held.

Mr Holland, 65, was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver near his home in Norfolk Drive, west Belfast last month, trying to prevent his delivery van from being stolen last Tuesday night.

28-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With Violent Ballymena Attack
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a stabbing incident in Ballymena. A man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries to his head, neck and stomach after he was reportedly attacked at his home in the Grove Road area. The incident is said to have taken place shortly after 4am this morning.

Teenage Girl Bailed On Holland Murder Charge
A teenage girl has been remanded on bail by Belfast Magistrates Court today after being re-arrested and charged with the murder of west Belfast greengrocer Harry Holland last September. The girl, now 16, had previously been charged in connection with the killing and was re-arrested on Thursday.

Holland Murder Boosts Community Policing Input
People living in an area that isn’t best known for effective police-community liaison are now said to be more likely to report matters to the PSNI. The senior officer in charge of policing west Belfast has welcomed the development which had previously been identified by the widow of murdered greengrocer, Harry Holland.
