Machete Attack In South Belfast

A man received serious facial injuries in a machete attack in south Belfast.

The attack, which occurred at around 2.15am on Sunday in Glenmachen Street, left the victim with a serious facial injury.

Police later had a report of a man seen with a machete in the Sandy Row area.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the attack to contact them.

A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with a machete attack at the weekend. The 20-year-old man will appear before Laganside Magistrates court this morning charged with attempted murder.
