Top marks for marketing lecturers
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has launched its search for the ‘Marketing Lecturer Of The Year’ in order to recognise the profession's unsung heroes who go that extra mile to shape the future of their students.
Speaking at the launch of the CIM Marketing Lecturer of the Year – now in its second year – Michael Maguire, Regional Director for the CIM in Northern Ireland, said: “Most CIM students are full time marketing practitioners, seeking to further their professional development.
"CIM courses are intensive and students are under a lot of pressure trying to juggle their careers and studies. Students depend on their lecturers to ensure they get the most out of their class time and to prepare them for sitting the certificate or diploma exams.
"The CIM feels that there is time to provide the recognition to our marketing lecturers for their commitment and dedication laying the foundations for many marketers to go on to achieve chartered status.”
There are over 700 CIM students studying Certificate and Diploma courses in marketing at six further education colleges throughout Northern Ireland – plus centres in the Republic of Ireland.
Those students will be invited to nominate their Marketing Lecturer of the Year 2003 based on a variety of criteria including enthusiasm, depth of understanding of their subject and quality of support received from their lecturers.
All CIM student members to submit an entry will be entered into a prize draw for the latest in telephone technology from BT.
The winning lecturer will be announced at an Awards Ceremony on January 16 and he or she will receive a specially engraved Tyrone Crystal trophy as well as a residential marketing course from CIM.
