Firearms Suspects To Appear In Court

The three men arrested after police recovered firearms, will appear in Lisburn magistrates court this morning.

The firearms were discovered by police yesterday, when they stopped a car travelling between Belfast city and Lisburn.

The men, two aged 42 and one aged 45, have been charged with aggravated burglary and possession of firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

The three suspects were detained at the serious crime suite at Antrim police station after the discovery was made.

A PSNI spokesman said yesterday that they were not treating the incident as terrorism related.

Three Men To Appear In Court Charged With Robbery And Firearms Offences
Three men are to appear at Downpatrick Magistrates Court later today charged with robbery and firearms offences. The men, aged 41, 26 and 20 were charged after police seized a shotgun on Castlewellan Road in Newcastle in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Pair arrested over pharmacy robbery
A 23-year-old man is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates Court later today charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances. A second man, who was also arrested in connection with armed robbery, has been released pending further inquiries.

20-Year-Old To Appear In Court Over Firearms Charges
A man has been charged with possessing a firearm in Lurgan, County Armagh. He was also charged with making threats to kill and was detained following an incident in the Hill Street area on Saturday. A man, 19, was threatened, however he managed to escape.

Firearms Recovered In Connection With Murder Of Kevin McGuigan
Police have recovered two weapons in connection with the murder of ex-IRA prisoner Kevin McGuigan in east Belfast. Two men, aged 39 and 49, and a woman, 32, have also been arrested. Mr McGuigan was shot outside his home in the Short Strand area last Wednesday.
