Healy, Gillespie And Evans Sit Out Training

Three Northern Ireland players, including striker David Healy, missed a training session on Monday in Reykjavik, ahead of Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Iceland.

Healy, Keith Gillespie and Jonny Evans sat out the training session at the team's training ground outside Reykjavik, after picking up minor knocks during the match against Latvia at the weekend.

Healy, who suffered a kick in the calf, missed training as a precautionary measure, as did Gillespie, who has a bruised knee, and Evans, who has a bruised ankle.

Manager Nigel Worthington expects all three players to be fit for the match at the Laugardalsvollur Stadium on Wednesday.

Iceland striker, Eidur Gudjohnsen - who plays for Barcelona - was doubtful for Wednesday's game as he was recovering from a knee injury, but is now understood that he has been passed fit.
