Man Remanded On Kidnap Charge
A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with kidnapping a 19-year-old Chinese woman in Belfast last March.
Ciaran Scullion, from Ardmonagh Gardens in the city, was also charged with robbing the woman of £400.
The 27-year-old was also charged with hi-jacking a car and driving while unfit. He is due to appear again by video-link on 27 September.
Elsewhere, the police in north Belfast are warning the public about bogus callers after an incident in the Oldpark area on Wednesday evening.
A woman answered the door to two men who said they were making an electoral check.
But when she asked them for identification they said they did not have any and left.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Members of the public can now recharge their mobile phones, tablets and other electrical devices within the grounds of Belfast City Hall. Environmental Street Furniture (ESF) installed two new solar powered 'street charge' units which means people can recharges their devices if they are running low.

A woman charged with keeping a brothel and controlling prostitution in Belfast has asked to return home to Germany on holiday. A judge ordered Nicole Preisner, 35, to hand over £1,000 as a surety and said she must show proof of travel bookings.

Teen Denies Police Murder Charge
A teenager has appeared in court to deny murdering police officer Constable Stephen Carroll, 48, who was shot dead in Craigavon on Monday 9 March. He was in the dock at Lisburn Magistrates Court where the court was told he "made no reply to the charges", when they were put to him.
