Male Nurse Struck Off
An "overfriendly" 32-year-old male nurse who formerly worked at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald has been struck off.
A professional conduct panel heard that Jonathan Gourley had made suggestive comments to female members of staff and had touched them inappropriately.
Legal representation for the prosecution said that he had used the premise of teaching female anatomy to touch female students inappropriately.
The panel heard that he had used his position as a senior member of the nursing staff in the ward in a "calculated and deliberate" manner.
Mr Gourley has 28 days in which to appeal the findings of the professional conduct panel.
A separate investigation by the health trust resulted in Mr Gourley being sacked.
