Three Men Charged Over NI Arson Attack

Three men have been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at a house in Derry on Saturday.

A woman, her 10-year-old son and their pet dog were rescued at around 4.30am on Saturday morning after a flammable substance was poured through the letterbox of the house at Harty Court in Ballymagroarty and set alight.

Both the woman and her son were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation but have since been released.

The men aged 38, 18 and 20 are expected to appear at Derry Magistrate’s Court today.

Three men deny Derry killings
Three men have been remanded in custody following the murder of two men in Londonderry earlier in the week. All three men, Darren McCallion, 20, his brother, David McCallion, 23, and Dermot Kelly, 22, denied the charges when they appeared in Londonderry Magistrates Court.

Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

Two Men Arrested Over Shooting Attack In L'Derry
Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting attack in L'Derry. A man was shot in the leg at a premises in Central Drive on 27 March. A 26-year-old and a 49-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday, 19 April. They have been detained and are being questioned by the police.

Two Men Attacked In L'Derry
Two men have been attacked in L'Derry. It occurred in the Ballymagroarty area at around 8pm on Thursday. The victims, aged 25 and 26, were shot in the legs and are currently in hospital. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal For Information On Aggravated Burglary In Cookstown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Queens Avenue area of Cookstown on Friday 3rd February. Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that four masked men entered a property in the area with one of the men armed with an iron bar and another man armed with a suspected firearm.
