Queen's Linked Terrorist Dies In Hospital
Kafeel Ahmed, a terrorist suspect who studied at Queens University in Belfast has died in hospital.
Mr Ahmed, 27, had been receiving treatment in hospital since he suffered serious burns following the incident at Glasgow Airport nearly five weeks ago when a blazing car was driven into the terminal building.
Mr Ahmed completed a post-graduate aeronautical engineering course at Queen’s in 2001 and stayed on at Queen’s as a research assistant.
Mr Ahmed from Bangalore, India, is thought to have spent almost three years in Northern Ireland.
A second man detained at Glasgow Airport has been charged with conspiring to cause explosions.

Glasgow terror suspect studied at Queens
One of the suspects involved in the attempted terrorist attack on Glasgow airport last weekend was a former student at Queen's University, it has been reported. Kafeel Ahmed is believed to have been the driver of the Jeep Cherokee, which was driven into the doors of the main terminal at Glasgow airport last Saturday.

Virus closes hospital beds across province
Hospitals in Northern Ireland are struggling to deal with the effects of a common virus which has left people waiting on trollies for beds and caused a severe backlog in surgery. The virus, which affects patients and staff, comes as hospitals throughout the province struggle to cope with an increased number of patients because of winter illnesses.
