Search for possible second body

The coastguard and police are carrying out a search for a possible second person close to the spot where a man’s body was found at the weekend.

A post mortem examination is to be carried out on the body of a man who was found on the shoreline at Garron Road in Waterfoot, County Antrim at around 1.00pm yesterday and the police are trying to establish if another person is in the water.

The emergency services have said that they were carrying out the searches as a precaution and did not know for certain if there was anyone else with the man that was found yesterday.

The dead man has been described as being between the ages of 20 and 30, of medium build, about 5ft 8in with close-cropped light brown hair.

He was wearing blue jeans, trainers and a black T-shirt with a Delux logo and it is not yet known how he died.

Police in Coleraine have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
