Ryanair introduces new Belfast flights

Ryanair have announced new flight services from Belfast to three destinations in the UK.

Budget airline, Ryanair, have been in talks with officials from George Best Belfast City Airport and made the announcement on the new flight services today.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said that the new routes to East Midlands, Glasgow and Liverpool are good news for business and tourism and will be expecetd to deliver 270,000 passengers per annum, generating a visitor spend of £40,000,000 and sustain some 270 local jobs.

The airline will be giving away an initial 10,000 flights for just £10 and will open further routes to continental Europe within the coming year.

Meanwhile, Irish airline Aer Lingus is set to become the only airline that offers flights from Belfast International Airport to London Heathrow.

The service is due to begin later this summer and it is understood that four flights a day in each direction will be in operation.

The airline started operating routes from Belfast International Airport to the greater New York and Boston areas less than a year ago. The airline said it made the decision due to "lower demand".

Airline Changes For Belfast Travellers
The budget airline Easyjet will add more flights from Belfast International Airport as of October 28. There will be an extra Edinburgh flight on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and an extra Manchester flight on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Numbers of flights to four London airports will also increase on weekday mornings and evenings.

Airline to launch Belfast-Dublin scheduled service
Regional airline Aer Arann Express has confirmed details for a new Dublin-Belfast service. Mainly catering for business passengers, the service, which Aer Arann estimates will carry over 40,000 passengers between the two cities over the next 12 months, will commence on June 18 and provide two flights a day.
