Belfast teenager found dead in Donegal

The body of a 15-year-old girl from Belfast has been found in a flat in County Donegal.

She was discovered shortly before midnight on Saturday night in a flat on Main Street, Ballintra.

Her body was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital and the scene at the flat has been preserved for forensic examination. State pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy will perform the post mortem this morning.

It is understood the teenager was with a group of friends who had rented the flat for a week-long holiday.

She is the sixth person to suffer a violent death since Friday night.

A garda spokesperson said the identity of the 15-year-old will not be released until all relatives have been informed.
