Glasgow terror suspect studied at Queens

One of the suspects involved in the attempted terrorist attack on Glasgow airport last weekend was a former student at Queen's University, it has been reported.

Kafeel Ahmed is believed to have been the driver of the Jeep Cherokee, which was driven into the doors of the main terminal at Glasgow airport last Saturday.

He was badly burned in the attack and has now been transferred to a specialist burns unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a critical condition and under armed guard.

It is understood that Mr Ahmed, originally from Bangalore in India, went to Queen's University to study aeronautical engineering in 2001 and he is reported to have remained at the university as a research assistant until 2004.

It has been reported that he shared rental accommodation with other students in Hampton Place, near the university, during that time.

Mr Ahmed is then understood to have attended Anglia Polytechnic University to study computational fluid dynamics, before returning to Bangalore in 2005.
