Arrest after Tyrone sexual assault

Detectives investigating the rape of a 16-year-old girl in County Tyrone have arrested a man.

The teenager had travelled by bus to attend a nightclub in Strabane on the evening of June 16. The attack is believed to have happened some time between getting off the bus and before she reached the nightclub.

She had been taken away from the area of Railway Street by three youths. One of the men sexually assaulted her while the other two men held her down.

A man was last night interviewed by police and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Charges After City Drugs Raid
Four people have appeared before Laganside Magistrates Court charged with drug offences. The arrests were made following a police swoop in the greater Belfast area yesterday. Popular city centre nightclub Mynt, on Dunbar Link, was searched as part of the operation.
