25 Jobs Created By Insurance Firm
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin has welcomed the announcement by Assurant Solutions that it is expanding its operations in Cork with the creation of 25 new jobs.
Minister Martin said: "This expansion is a vote of confidence in the Cork region and is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the existing 50 management and staff already based in Mahon.
"The Cork office provides vital support to Assurant’s operations in the US and Europe, where it provides specialised insurance. The expansion will see the creation of quality jobs in Cork and shows that we can continue to compete with locations across Europe in attracting investment and employment.
"I also welcome the fact that management at Assurant Solutions recognise that their operation at Mahon has the capabilities and facilities to accommodate significant expansion. Assurant has strong links with Cork and has been based here since 1999, I wish the company, its management and staff every success into the future,” concluded Minister Martin.
Assurant Solutions sells specialised insurance products.

Instruction Firm Drives 250 Jobs
A total of 250 jobs are to be created following the expansion of driver training and instruction company SIM2Learn, it has been announced. The company has its headquarters in Galway, and operates from centres in Dublin, Cork, Sligo and Letterkenny.

Simon Coveney, T.D. Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine today announced €15.5 million of new investment by the Irish seafood processing companies, supported by grants of €3.2 million under the EU co-funded Seafood Processing Business Investment Scheme.
