Firefighters tackle blaze at former Londonderry Shirt factory
A former shirt factory in Londonderry has been extensively damaged in an overnight fire.
Firefighters spent the night trying to contain the blaze at the derelict Tillie and Henderson building in the cityside end of the Craigavon Bridge at Carlisle Square.
The alarm was raised shortly after 7pm on Tuesday evening when flames were seen in the top floor and roof of the building which was originally built in the mid-1800's.
The Foyle Road, Abercorn Road and the top-deck of the Craigavon Bridge were closed as the fire service tried to stop the blaze spreading to nearby homes.
Arsonists have targeted the premises on a number of occasions recently.

Firefighters combat blaze in north Belfast
Dozens of firefighters had to be called out this morning to deal with a major fire at a derelict building in north Belfast. The blaze began at about 5am on Tuesday at the Old Blue Supporters Club on the Crumlin Road with flames raging through the first floor level of the unoccupied building.

Two fires at a derelict factory in Co Tyrone are being treat as arson. The first blaze started at Herdman's Mill in Sion Mills on Friday, 10 June, which caused substantial damage. The second fire was started on Saturday, 11 June, at around 8.30pm, and caused further damage. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
