Murdered doorman’s funeral takes place

The funeral of murdered doorman Brian McGlynn is due to take place today.

The 28-year-old was shot while at his home in the Fountain Hill area of the Waterside, Londonderry on Sunday.

He had been sleeping in bed and his 24-year-old girlfriend, who was also in the bedroom, but was was uninjured in the attack.

Two masked men had carried out the killing in the early hours of the morning.

Mr McGlynn will be buried following a service at Leckpatrick Parish Church in Ballymagorry.

He had worked as a doorman at the Red Rooms nightclub another pub in the city.

Five men had been questioned about the murder, however they were all released without charge.

Two released in doorman killing case
Two men have been released in the investigation of the murder of a man who was shot while sleeping in his bed in County Londonderry. Earlier three people, all from the Derry area, arrested on Monday morning in relation to the incident, have since been released without charge.

Second Arrest As Police Probe Doorman's Death
Another person has been held by police investigating the death of a man who was working as a pub and club doorman in Londonderry. The 46-year-old man was arrested in Derry today (Thursday) in connection with the murder of Brian McGlynn, 28, who was shot dead at his home in the Fountain Hill area of the Waterside on Sunday, 3 June, last year.

Five men arrested in connection with doorman assault
Five men have been arrested following the assault of a doorman at a Co Antrim hotel at the weekend. The men were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the incident which occurred at the Chimney Corner Hotel on the outskirts of Belfast at around 2.30am on Sunday.
