Chainreaction Cycles goes from strength to strength

Established in 1984, Chainreaction Cycles (CRC) started out as a small independent bike shop, but from the humble beginnings CRC has gone from strength to strength thanks to the keen eye of Managing Director Chris Watson who spotted the obvious benefits of mail order sales in the early 1990’s.

Since then CRC has gone on to capitalize on the benefits offered by the advent of internet sales on a global scale with the launch of the Chainreaction Cycles website in 1999 which to this day has been the backbone to the success of the award winning service.

Reaching the capacity of the existing premises CRC made the decision to expand operations further with the construction of new purpose built premises which would provide the extra storage space needed, plus provide the additional office space for dedicated Telesales, Marketing/Advertising, and Web Maintenance teams.

In June of 2005 CRC made the move to new premises. With the extra storage space and the steady increase in orders CRC were able to provide in excess of 40 new jobs to the local community, and is one of the largest employers in the area.

Shortly after the initial move the new shop/showroom opened with the appointment of Shop Manager, Ricky McKillen.

Mr Watson said: "Within the first few months of opening we had already gained a good reputation for our friendly, knowledgeable staff. As word spread about the new shop we have had a steady influx of customers, both old and new, and due to the immediate success we have appointed a further two members of staff to help cope with the increase in customers we experience on a daily basis.

"CRC caters for all cycling disciplines, from Cross Country and Downhill mountain bikers to roadies and BMX’ers, from the weekend warriors to the all out racers. Of course, we also cater for the recreational cyclists too as well as stocking a full range of children’s cycles, and all at internet prices," he said.

All CRC’s bikes are sourced from the world’s top manufacturers including B1, Viper, Electra Cruisers, GT, DMR, Dawes and more.

Also on display is a full range of frames, forks, accessories and clothing including brands such as Intense, Cove, Rock Shox, Marzocchi, Shimano, Hope, Hayes, 661, Oakley and Spy.

CRC have also branched out into other markets of extreme sports equipment, including moto-x and snowboard with a wide selection of clothing and accessories from some of the world’s best known companies. We also have an extensive range of 'Boys Toyz' including radio controlled cars, planes and boats.

On top of all of this, the shop facilities have the backup of the country’s top mechanics led by the Irish National DH team mechanic, Dale McMullan.
