Pensioners threatened by gunmen
An elderly couple were subjected to a terrifying ordeal last night when two masked men forced their way into their Bellaghy home.
One of the men brandishing a handgun forced his way past the pensioner as he opened the door to his home on the Drenan Road, near Bellaghy, at around 7.30pm.
The man's wife and their granddaughter, who was also in the house at the time, were treated for shock following the attack.
Police report that the householder was threatened before the men withdrew from the house. A motive for the attack has not yet been established.
Police have appealed to anyone who may have information on the incident to contact detectives at Magherafelt.

The attack happened at a house in the Greenmount Place area at around 10.30pm on Monday, 08 January. The men, armed with hammers, forced entry into the property and attacked and threatened the victim.
