Compass Group announces profits surge
The Compass Group, which employs over 2,000 people in 200 locations across the province, has announced healthy returns for the year with a £4.5 million profit hike.
Compass Group Northern Ireland, which is a leading provider of catering services to the business, health and education sectors, made the announcement following the publication by its parent group of its financial results for the year ending 30 September 2002.
Throughout the year, Compass Group also strengthened its Northern Irish client portfolio with a number of leading institutions and company names, including Carpets International, Sanmina-SCI, Irwins Bakery, Newry Institute, Campbell College and Cabin Hill Schools.
Commenting on the results, Margaret Campbell, operations director of Compass Group's business in Northern Ireland, said: "We have had a very successful year of trading in 2002. We have an excellent team in place who have been successful in converting a number of business opportunities for the company, as well as growing our existing portfolio of clients.
"Our business continues to go from strength to strength here, as we continue to establish ourselves as the partner of choice for a range of companies, organisations, and institutions in Northern Ireland."
Compass Group has three main operating subsidiaries in Northern Ireland - Eurest (catering to the business and industry sectors), Medirest (catering to the health sector) and Scolarest (catering to the education sector).
