Pensioner’s mobile home set alight

A pensioner has escaped with minor injuries after thieves set fire to his mobile home in County Antrim.

The 66-year-old man was woken at around 11am on Sunday by two men banging on his door of the mobile home on the Ballyclare Road in Newtownabbey.

They demanded his car keys but the man said no and refused to open the door. A number of windows were then smashed with concrete blocks and a wheelie bin was pushed against a door and set alight.

He managed to escape through a window before running to neighbours to raise the alarm.
