Lisburn company wins £75 million contract
A Lisburn-based company has been awarded a £75 million contract to supply fire engines across the UK.
Brown’s Coachworks competed with 130 other firms to win a share of the contract that will see them build 500 fire appliances over four years.
Managing Director Brian Brown said: “It feels absolutely fabulous. We won this contract over about 130 other people from all over the world.
“Out of that they picked six companies that have been successful and I am absolutely delighted for our workforce and for everyone involved.”

Belfast Company Wins Singapore Defibrillator Contract
A Belfast company has won a contract to supply equipment for the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in Singapore. Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster announced the deal, which will see HeartSine Technologies supply its Automated External Defibrillators to Singapore.

Ballymena company wins contract to build Irish buses
A County Antrim coachbuilding firm has won a multi-million pound contract to supply a number of buses for an Irish Republic based company. Ballymena’s Wright Group is set to supply single-deck city buses to Bus Eireann. Martin Cullen, Irish Transport Minister, confirmed the news of the 11.5 Euro (£8m) contract at Wright’s premises at Galgorm.
