Police investigate Magherafelt assault

Police in County Londonderry are investigating a serious sexual assault that took place in a car just over a week ago.

The victim, a teenage girl, was believed to have been attacked in a car after a man picked her up at a car park on Union Road, Magherafelt.

Detectives discovered the girl in a distraught state after she had returned to the car park at around 1.00am on April 30.

A second man in the car is thought to have got out before she was driven away.

Police are appealing for information after shots were fired at a parked car in Dungiven, L'Derry. The attack happened just after 10pm on Monday in the Hass Park area. According to police, a man wearing a hooded top fired two shots at the parked car, which was empty at the time of the incident.
