Greenisland gas explosion deliberate
A gas explosion and fire in which 50 homes had to be evacuated in County Antrim, may have been caused deliberately according to police.
Flames shot 30ft in the air near the railway station on Station Road, Greenisland, on Sunday.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A concrete cover appears to have been removed and as a result of the fire a plastic pipe had melted, causing a metal valve to come loose and a jet of gas had ignited."
PSNI officers removed a number of items for examination and are appealing for witnesses.
Approximately 100 people were forced out of their homes during the incident in which a 200 metre safety zone was established.
