Petrol bomb thrown into Co Antrim home

A man has been taken to hospital after a petrol bomb was thrown into his living room.

The incident happened at around 11:00pm last night at the man’s home in Castle Park in Deffrick near Ballymoney, County Antrim.

The victim had been in his bedroom when he heard a bang and rushed downstairs to find his furniture on fire.

He suffered smoke inhalation after putting the blaze out. The room was smoke damaged.

Detectives investigating the incident have not yet established a motive.

Blaze Under Investigation At Fire Station
A part-time blaze at a County Londonderry part-time fire station is under investigation. A smoke alarm went off at Limavady fire station on Catherine Street in the town at 8:50am today. It took about an hour to bring the fire, in the station’s store room, under control. Firefighters from Dungiven and Londonderry were called to the scene.

Shots Fired At House In L'Derry
Shots have been fired at at house in Co L'Derry. The incident happened on Bonds Street in the Waterside area at around 10.35pm on Tuesday, 20 December. Two shots were fired at the living room window of the house, according to the PSNI. A man, aged in his 40s, was in the house at the time, however he was not injured.

North Belfast School Damaged In Petrol Bomb Attack
A north Belfast school has suffered extensive smoke damage in a petrol bomb attack. The fire occurred at Saint Patrick's College Bearnageeha, on the Antrim Road. Police and the fire service arrived at the school at around 6.00am on Thursday, to find the fire had already burnt itself out.
