Teenager treated for eye injury

A teenager, who received an eye injury following an incident in the outskirts of south Belfast, has been taken to hospital for treatment.

It is understood the 15-year-old had been struck in the eye with a ball bearing.

The incident took place at around 6:30pm yesterday evening in the Gardenmore Road.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them.

Man Assaulted In Newtownabbey
A man has been injured after being assaulted by a gang in Newtownabbey. The attack happened outside a bar in the Antrim Road area in the early hours of Monday morning, 01 January. The 25-year-old victim has been left with a fractured eye socket and sustained injuries to his head, hands and body.
