Police attacked in west Belfast
Police have come under attack by a gang of youths in the New Barnsley Estate area of west Belfast yesterday evening.
Petrol bombs, bricks and stones were among the “heavy missiles” thrown at police during the incident. A number of vehicles were also damaged on the Ballygomartin Road and a barricade was erected which blocked the Mountain Road.
It is understood the youths were all around 13 and 14 years of age, and Police Chief Superintendent Gary White has described this as "worrying".
Calm was restored to the area at around 9.30pm after community representatives intervened.
Four youths who were arrested follwing the incident have been releaased pending reports.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police are appealing for information after officers were attack by around 100 youths in west Belfast yesterday evening. The incident occurred in the Albert Street area of the Falls Road at around 6.30pm following reports of dangerous driving. When officers arrived a gang of around 70 youths began throwing stones and other missiles at police.
