Suspect device at DPP member's home

An Army bomb disposal team has been called in to deal with a suspect device at the home of a District Policing Partnership.

Items were removed for forensic examination following the third bomb alert in the Strabane area in four days.

Earlier this week two devices left at houses in the Sion Mills area were dealt with by Army technical experts.

It is not known if the object found in Strabane at the home of independent DPP member Arthur McGarrigle was a viable device.

A security alert was sparked at the scene by reports of a number of youths seen acting suspiciously in front of the DPP member's house.
