Two injured in separate attacks

Two men are recovering in hospital today after separate paramilitary-style attacks.

At around 9pm last night, two armed men burst into the victim's Beechwood Drive home in Donaghadee and assaulted him with pickaxe handles. The 42-year-old man was later taken to hospital with two broken legs.

Elsewhere, a man was shot in both ankles in Keady, Co Armagh.

At around 11pm, the man travelling in a car in the Caramoyle estate in the town when it was stopped by a gang of men. He was then held down and shot.

Anyone with information on either incident should contact police.

A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.

Man Shot In Legs In Co Armagh
A man has been shot in both legs in Co Armagh. A group of men forced their way into a house in the Meadowbank area of Craigavon and dragged the victim outside and shot him in both legs. The incident happened on Thursday night. The 26-year-old man has is being treated in hospital. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Two Men Shot At Wedding
An investigation is underway after two men were injured in a shooting at a wedding in Newtownbutler, Co Fermanagh. According to reports, the shooting happened at about 13:00 on Wednesday in the grounds of St Mary's Catholic church. Two men are being treated for their injuries at Enniskillen's South West Acute hospital.

Pensioners robbed during separate incidents
Police have appealed for information after five pensioners were attacked and robbed in their homes during separate incidents yesterday evening. The first incident happened at around 5pm, when four men broke into the home of a 74-year-old woman in the Tansy Road in Ballinderry, County Antrim.
