Woman stabbed during robbery in Bangor

A female shop worker has been stabbed following a robbery in Bangor at around 1pm this afternoon.

A man armed with a knife entered the newsagent’s shop on Gray’s Lane and stabbed the woman before taking off with a sum of money from the till.

A sales representative who had entered the shop raised the alarm, and with the help of two builders working nearby, they managed to detain the man until detectives arrived.

One man has been arrested and cash and a knife were recovered.

The injured woman has been taken to hospital.

Businesses Damaged By Blaze In Portstewart
An investigation has launched after a number of businesses were damaged by a blaze in The Diamond in Portstewart. The alarm was raised at 5am on Monday, however fire crews were called back at around 9.30am. A chip shop, coffee shop and hairdressers were damaged as a result. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Meat Cleaver Robber Sought
A female shop assistant has been threatened with a meat cleaver during a robbery in west Belfast. A man carrying a cleaver entered an off-licence on the Springfield Road at about 4pm on Tuesday and demanded cash from the till - escaping with an undisclosed sum of money. The woman was unhurt but said to be badly shaken.

Woman held at knifepoint during robbery
A woman has been held at knifepoint during a robbery at a convenience store in Lurgan, County Armagh. The incident took place at 8.15pm last night, at a shop in Sloan Street, when two men entered and demanded cash. One of the men went behind the counter and held a large knife to the shop assistants throat.

Police Appeal After Man Armed With Knife Steals Till From Shop In Ballymena
Police are appealing for information after a man, armed with a knife, stole a cash register from a shop in Ballymena. The incident occurred at premises on Queen Street at around 6.30am on Monday, 11 September. the suspect is described as being approximately 6ft in height and had his face covered with a dark balaclava.

Man stabbed to death during robbery
A man has died after being stabbed in the chest during a robbery at his home in south Belfast at the weekend. The victim was asleep at his Glenburn Road home in Dunmurry when he was awoken by a noise at around 5.30am on Sunday. When the man went to investigate he was confronted by four men who proceeded to stab him several times.
