Translink announce ticket pricing changes
Most rail and bus fares in Northern Ireland will be reduced or unchanged due to an increase in passenger numbers during the last 12 months.
However, single fares on Northern Ireland Railways and Ulsterbus will rise as part of the annual fares revision.
One-way train fares will increase by 6% on average, and Ulsterbus single journeys will rise by 2%.
Some return fares and multi-tickets have also been reduced in attempts to encourage more use of public transport, while Metro fares will remain the same.
Marketing Executive at Translink, Ciaran Rogan, said the majority of customers would not be affected by price increases.
“It is good news for passengers – we are able to give back the benefits of a growing and successful public transport network and reward loyalty,” he said.
“This should encourage even more people to make the switch to bus and train and lock in a cycle of growth and success.”
