Concrete slabs damage lorries in Banbridge
Police in Banbridge are appealing for information following an incident where slabs of cement were thrown at lorries.
The blocks were hurled at three lorries on the Cascum Road Bridge on the A1, outside Banbridge.
The drivers all escaped injury, however their vehicles were damaged.
A police spokesperson highlighted the dangers of throwing missiles at vehicles, and said they were taking the incident very seriously and would “deal robustly” with anyone involved.
Detectives have appealed to any witnesses to contact them with information at Banbridge on: 0845 600 8000 or alternatively call the confidential Crimestoppers line on: 0800 555 111.

Strong winds leave 8,000 homes without power
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) has had engineers working overnight to restore power to over 8,000 homes overnight after strong winds and rain swept across the province. Structural damage was caused to the electricity network as a result of falling trees and flying debris affecting many towns across Counties Down and Antrim.

Power cuts blackout parts of NI
Thousands of homes and businesses across Northern Ireland have been hit by a major power shortage. NIE said that both Kilroot and Ballylumford power stations were experiencing operational difficulties and that the problem could last for several hours as generation capacity was severely reduced.
