Man beaten in paramilitary-style attack
A 35-year-old man is recovering in hospital today after being beaten in a paramilitary-style attack in Co Antrim last night.
At around 11.30pm, three men – two armed with handguns and one with a blunt instrument – burst into the victim's home on the Stiles estate in Antrim. The two gunmen pointed their weapons at the man as the third carried out the assault.
The victim suffered puncture wounds to his legs and elbows, and required five stitches for a head wound.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Elsewhere, a 29-year-old man is set to appear in court today to face four terrorist-related charges.
Andrew Logan, from Carnhill Walk, Carrickfergus, was charged with possessing firearms and ammunition, explosives and a computer disk likely to be of use to terrorists.
Mr Logan denied the charges and was remanded in custody until February 7.
The charges relate to the uncovering of a bomb-making factory at Castlemara Drive, Carrickfergus, last week.

The thugs beat the man with bats studded with nails. The victim also suffered puncture wounds to his body and had to be treated in hospital.

The victim, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition after being assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. A man has been shot in both legs in Co Armagh. A group of men forced their way into a house in the Meadowbank area of Craigavon and dragged the victim outside and shot him in both legs. The incident happened on Thursday night. The 26-year-old man has is being treated in hospital. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
