Police appeal for information on murdered pensioner

Detectives investigating the murder of 92-year-old Charlie Stead are appealing to anybody who employed workmen in the area to contact them.

The pensioner was found dead at his home at Canberra Park in Dundonald last Monday after neighbours noticed milk was still on his doorstep.

It is believed he died from severe head injuries. A murder weapon has not yet been found.

Police want to talk to any residents of the area who employed workers for outside building work in Canberra Park or Dunleavy Road.

The man, who suffered from arthritis, was last seen in Canberra Walk on the morning of February 25.

Further checks will be carried out on Mr Stead’s home later today.
