Pensioners house ransacked

Two pensioners have been left badly shaken after being robbed at their County Down home.

It is believed three masked men entered the house of brothers Bill and Thomas Killen, aged 88 and 82 after breaking down the door at 9.10pm on Thursday night.

Bill Killen told police they threatened him with a gun and was told he would be kneecapped, while Thomas was struck on the head with a bat.

He suffered cuts to the head, but did not require hospital treatment.

The thieves ransacked the house in Crawfordstown Road in Drumaness, and made off with a sum of money.

Police in the Ballynahinch area are asking for any witnesses to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or phone confidentially on the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
