Hijacking incident in east Belfast
Detectives in east Belfast have appealed for information following a hijacking incident yesterday evening.
The incident happened in the car park of the Avoniel Leisure Centre at around 7.30pm, when a 25-year-old-man was approached by an unknown man, brandishing a knife.
The assailant threatened the man and demanded that he hand over his mobile phone, before dragging him out of his blue-coloured Renault Clio and making off in it.
The hijacker is described as being aged around 18-years-old, of slim build and was wearing what have been described as sports clothes.
Police investigating the incident have said that there were a number of people in the area at the time and have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the hijacking or have any information in connection with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed during a car hijacking in Co Antrim on Tuesday. The incident occurred at the Kingsway Complex in Dunmurry at around 10pm. The man was getting into his vehicle when he was approached by another man who demanded his keys.

Police Appeal After Woman Injured In Crash In East Belfast

Appeal Issued Following Car Hijacking
Police have issued an appeal for information following the hijacking of car in Belfast. At around 8.45pm on Thursday (6 February), approximately 15 hooded youths pulled a man from his car – a white Ford Focus – and stole it. The incident happened in the Ross Street area of the city.
