Malone Road restaurant robbed

An armed robber has held up a restaurant on the Malone Road in South Belfast.

A man entered the premises with a hand gun at at approximately 10pm on Tuesday 23 January. He demanded the contents of the till from a member of staff. After retrieving what was descriedb as a "substantial" amount of cash, he made of in the direction of Eglantine Avenue.

The man is described as being 5' 8", average build with a local accent and wearing a brown hoodie, light blue jeans, black balacava and black ski gloves.

Police in South Belfast are appealing for witnesses, call 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Armed Man Robs Shop In South Belfast
Police have launched an investigation following an armed robbery at a shop in south Belfast. A man, believed to have been armed with a handgun, entered the premises on the Lockview Road just before 10.15pm on tuesday, 30 January. He made off with a sum of cash and a significant amount of cigarettes and scratch cards.
