Belfast flight makes emergency landing

An easyJet flight from Belfast to Liverpool was forced to make an emergency landing early this morning after a malfunction was reported with the aircraft's altimeters.

The plane's pilot reported the problem shortly after 7am and was forced to hold the Boeing 737 at the same height, before the equipment failure was eventually resolved.

However, as a precautionary measure the pilot followed standard emergency procedures until the plane landed on time at 7.35pm at Liverpool airport.

The aircraft’s 47 passengers were kept aware of what was happening during the entire flight.

No-one was injured during the incident.
