Man arrested after shotgun attack
A man has been arrested after a gun attack on a house in Co Londonderry last night.
At around 9.30pm, the house on Redthorn Court, Coleraine, was hit by two shotgun blasts. A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were hit by flying glass but were uninjured.
A man was arrested earlier today and is helping police with their inquiries. Detectives have not yet established a motive for the attack.
SDLP assembly member for the area, John Dallat, condemned the attack and urged the community to "unite against loyalist bullyboys".
"No individual and no family should have to live in neighbourhoods where gunmen are on the loose," he said.
"They not only cause death and destruction but they put ordinary decent people under enormous physical and psychological pressure to dance to their tune - and that is a denial of one's basic human rights."
Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
