Armed robbery in County Tyrone
Police in County Tyrone have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a bank yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 3.45pm, when three men – one armed with a hatchet and another armed with a gun - entered a bank in the William Street area of Cookstown.
The gang made off with an undisclosed sum of cash. No one was injured in the incident.
One of the robbers is said to have been wearing a yellow anorak with a hood and Adidas tracksuit bottoms.
The second was wearing a white coloured hooded top, with light blue shoulder pads and the word 'Converse' written in red on the back.
The third robber was wearing a black coat with white stripes on the arm and dark trousers.
Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or who may have any information on those responsible for carrying it out, are asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
